What a visit costs, who we are and are not, which appliances we take on, how long the work is covered, and what happens if the answer is not to repair it.

## What does it cost to have you look at it?

A flat $129. That covers the visit and the diagnosis, and it comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair. You get the price in writing before any part is ordered or any tool comes out of the bag.

## Do you work for the manufacturer?

No. Beauclerc Range Works is an independent shop. Nobody at the maker sent us and nobody there vets us. We name the brand only so you know which appliances we work on. If your appliance is still inside its original maker's warranty, ring the maker first — we will tell you that on the phone rather than take the booking.

## Where do the reviews on this site come from?

They are what customers told us after a visit, published with a first name and a last initial. Every one of them is on the reviews page, the middling ones included, and the score printed above each block is the average of exactly those reviews and nothing else. If a job went sideways we would rather you read about it beforehand than find out on the day.

## Which appliances do you actually work on?

Wolf cooking appliances, and nothing else: dual fuel ranges, gas ranges, induction ranges, rangetops, cooktops, built-in ovens and the rest of the cooking line. We do not work on refrigeration, dishwashers or laundry, and we do not work on other makes.

## How long is the work covered for?

Labour is warranted for 90 days and parts for 365 days, and the parts are genuine OEM. The cover is on the work we did and the part we fitted, not on a different fault that turns up later on the same appliance.

## Will you have the part with you?

Often, because we work on one make and the van is stocked for it. Ignition parts, sensors, seals and common elements ride with us. A control board or a cosmetic panel is ordered, and you get the price in writing before it is.

## How far do you travel?

Mandarin, Jacksonville is home ground and we work outward from it, roughly 25 miles. If you are further than that we will say so plainly instead of taking the booking and sorting it out later.

## Can you come out at night or on a Sunday?

No. Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Saturday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. Closed Sunday. We would rather publish the hours we actually keep than advertise a line nobody answers.

## The range stopped during a storm. What now?

Around 68 thunderstorm days a year is enough to make control board damage an ordinary repair here rather than a rare one. Say on the phone that it happened during a storm, because it changes what we put in the van. Storm damage is not a manufacturing fault and it is not covered by anyone's parts warranty, which is worth knowing before the visit.

## Is it worth repairing or should I replace it?

On a built-in appliance the honest answer is usually repair, because replacing one means matching a cabinet opening, a gas run, a duct and a circuit that were all built around the old machine. We will tell you when a repair stops making sense — a failed part on an appliance with two more parts visibly at the end of their lives is a different conversation, and we would rather have it before you spend anything.

## Do I need the model number before I ring?

No. A symptom in plain words is enough to start. The plate is usually behind the bottom drawer or inside the door frame, and if it is easy to reach it saves a little time, but it is not a condition of the call.
